Yes, I'm sure you can relate :) I've gotten around it like you, with English characters who live in America or vice versa but I can only come up with so many reasons for that :)Kate Hewitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01430037634763307748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220112630769428546.post-2894391546894814622017-01-22T15:07:01.235-05:002017-01-22T15:07:01.235-05:00Thank you Tina! I've long accepted that I can't please everyone, but this was a new criticism that made me scratch my head : I definitely recommend Third Culture Kids!Kate Hewitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01430037634763307748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220112630769428546.post-4580056560418390232017-01-22T07:41:05.348-05:002017-01-22T07:41:05.348-05:00Thanks you for mentioning that book Third Culture ...Thanks you for mentioning that book Third Culture Kids, I oils be interested in reading it. Also, for what it's worth, I think your books are excellent and you have to remember, you can't please everyone.

Just look at you book sales - you are doing well, correct? That's the bottom line. If people didn't like your writing style then your sales would drop. I actually do a bit of light research on an author before I buy and I knew you were American living in the UK. That was a selling point for me, I envy your living situation 😉Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11261086731187286052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220112630769428546.post-13075738263095921172017-01-16T11:45:29.406-05:002017-01-16T11:45:29.406-05:00Yes! Like you I think it's probably easier to write in the language of the country you currently live in but it can make it tricky sometimes. I got around it in my last book by saying the character had grown up in England and in my next book the heroine has an English mother. I tend, like you, to have some American characters and some English characters - we're bilingual!Virginia Frankenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14736843007526667775noreply@blogger.com
