Internet detective
My book The Undoing of De Luca comes out in September, which is relatively soon, but Amazon doesn't have a cover yet. Still, I figured there had to be a cover *somewhere* on the internet, and so after googling the title, I finally found a picture on Borders in Australia.
Here it is:

I have mixed feelings about this cover. On one hand, they got the heroine's hair right--long, straight, and white-blonde. On the other hand, it looks like she's in the middle of a squat and the hero looks a little... greasy. Plus if the heroine straightened, wouldn't she be taller than him? And what's with the generic hotel bedroom in the background? Admittedly, hotels feature rather prominently in this book, but they never stay at the Hilton.
In any case, covers are completely out of my control, and so far I've only had one that I truly shuddered at, and three that I absolutely loved. Can you guess which ones??

Hello again...
I haven't blogged lately because, to be honest, there hasn't been much to blog about! After turning in my latest manuscript, The Tortured Rake, I took a breather from writing and dealt with the friendly chaos of end of school--concerts, awards ceremonies, picnics--all fun stuff, but time consuming! Then of course the children haul back all their school papers and detritus, and then the painful decision of what to keep and throw away... will I treasure my five year old's scrawled drawing of a school bus in years to come or not? In the end, I kept a few things for each child and consigned the rest to the bin. Such treasures as this journal entry of my son's, of course, were a keeper:
My hero is my mom and dad because if they were ded we would not no what to do and we might die to and are house might exploude and nobudy could live in it that will be sad. But if they were alive that wonte happen and it will be drust fine it will be cool and nowune will die and it will be grate.
Now my next deadline is starting to loom and I need to get stuck into the manuscript, which, as I've said before, is a retelling of Emma--very challenging to pare away the secondary characters and figure out how to make it more of a Presentsy story!
Meanwhile, The Bride's Awakening is on sale now in the UK, and Count Toussaint's Baby will be on sale on eharlequin in July. To check out The Bride's Awakening (which, incidentally, is one of my favorite books!), go

The Battle of the Covers:
The cover of my July release The Bride's Awakening in India:

And in the UK:

Which do you prefer? Neither scene, as far as I can tell, actually appears in the book, but never mind...

Summer Fun!
Now that my schedule is clearing up--big sigh of relief--I thought I'd do some fun stuff on my blog, such as host some other authors. What do you like to hear about from authors? What they're working on? Where they get their inspiration? What their writing day is like? How many pets they have? Let me know and I'll start lining up some guest bloggers!
